First off, this driver works for PRE Jaguar OSX, i.e. OSX 10.0 and 10.1. If you want to use your 875DCS on Jaguar or Panther, then use CUPS which is now convieniently built into OSX

PS. You have to laugh at the google ads that appear on this page haven't you ;-)

Epson and Apple have managed to completely fail to produce a printer driver for the EPSON Stylus 875DCS, even though a driver exists for the 875DC, which is an identical printer but has a pcmcia converter for a CompactFlash card instead of a Memory Stick.

As the 875DCx series of printer were very popular, especially among Apple Mac users, those with the 875DCS model waited with baited breath for the OSX driver and even though Epson say there are drivers for it, they do not return enquiries with anything other than a standard email saying some corporate mumbo jumbo.

Anyway, forget all that, I got so pissed off that I hacked a new driver from the 875DC driver that Epson released.

There is no warrenty, no support, no nothing with this driver. Use at your own risk. HOWEVER, I have it running on an iBook, and iMac and a Dual G4 tower without any problems.

To install the driver, you will need a tool to modifiy directory access rights (such as BatChmod) or to use the terminal and chmod (don't ask me how to use chmod, I don't have a clue).

To download my driver, click here.
Whilst you are there, consider trying out PersonaPodX (or buying it if you find it and/or this printer driver usefull), a helper application for your iPod.
